Explore Pakistan

About this project

A guide built to answer one question: is now a good time to go?

Explore Pakistan is a student project built to demonstrate an AI-assisted web development workflow — planning with Spec-Kit Plus, building with Claude Code, and shipping a Next.js site with a retrieval-augmented chatbot layered on top. The subject matter is real: six destinations across northern Pakistan, each documented with the season, altitude, and route details a traveler would actually need.

Practical over pretty

Every destination page leads with altitude, season, and travel time — the facts that actually shape a trip.

Same structure, every time

So you can compare two valleys at a glance instead of reading two different-shaped articles.

Ask, don't dig

The chat assistant reads every page on the site, so a specific question is faster than a search.

Built with

Next.js 14 (App Router), TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS on the frontend. The chat assistant runs on FastAPI, OpenAI's API for generation, Qdrant Cloud for vector search over the site content, and Neon Postgres for chat history — planned and tracked through a Spec-Kit Plus constitution, plan, and task list.
