Turquoise water born from a landslide
Attabad didn't exist before 2010 — a landslide dammed the Hunza River and formed a lake so blue it looks retouched. Boats cross it as part of the KKH route north; most visitors stop for an hour, but a night at the lakeside camps is worth the extra time.
